On the 22nd of May 2024, Shri G. Ajith Kumar, the Consul General of the Office of the Consulate General of India in Phuntsholing, paid a visit to Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde. Accompanied by Dasho Thrompon, Executive Secretary and other officials, the Consul General inspected the completed SDP projects (GOI) in Dewathang and Samdrup Jongkhar, including the Integrated Vegetable Market shed. Additionally, he reviewed the progress of the ongoing SDP project; urban road development project at core town.

In a subsequent visit, Shri G. Ajith Kumar, alongside Dasho Dzongda, Dasho Thrompon, the Executive Secretary, the Police Chief, and other officials, explored the proposed construction site of the Integrated Check Post (ICP) and further toured the Phuntsho Rabtenling industrial area.

The Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde expresses deep appreciation for the Consul General's visit, as it offered a valuable opportunity to engage in official discussions and gain insights from his wisdom.
